Treknow (on my bucket list) — My Travel & Life Blog
Hey! It's me, Lokkikallio (or Gull Rock) — aka Creative Gull. And from now on I will also be known by the nicknames Treknow or Trebarwith Strand. There sure are many nicknames — one for each situation. And you still probably don't exactly know who I am.
Well, let me introduce myself. My name is Lassi. I do have a last name too of course — and you may well be confused about that, because you may have seen two different ones. The reason is that I am not sure what I want my last name to be. It is Kallio, at the moment, but I am considering changing it to a completely new last name, which would be Lokkikallio. (Kallio means rock in English, and Lokkikallio means Gull Rock).
This leads us to the topic of my blog and my new site, which is called: Treknow (on my bucket list). Actually, I first came up with the name Trebarwith Strand, because that is a place in England, where you can see a Gull Rock out in the sea. That is in my bucket list of places I want to go before I die. Well, that name is a bit too long, and there is a place called Treknow nearby, where there's more accommodation available too. That also has a nice connotation, as it could be interpreted as two words "trek now". And to emphasize that this is a travel blog I added the thing about bucket list to the title. Also, the site has its own page for that bucket list.
This is most certainly a travel blog. I will report my travel experiences, stories, and recommendations to this blog as I go on trips in the future. My traveling has been a bit limited in recent times due to personal circumstances. And that is where the life blog bit kicks in. When I can't travel abroad to the bucket list places or even around my home country of Finland — I at least try to take little walks (or treks) in my hometown of Vantaa and places in the surrounding region (Helsinki metropolitan area). And when I visit new places — whether in nature, in different neighborhoods, or at local cafes, restaurants, and other interesting spots — I try my best to report something worthy of reading — or at least some photos worthy of seeing. And one thing about that bucket list — even when I can't travel, I very much enjoy researching different places and making plans, thus the bucket list. This is one thing that may be seen in the blog, as well — not always sharing my own experiences — but also the outcomes of my extensive research that I do online.
This leads us to the last chapter of this post. I may not have much local knowledge about many places — mainly only about the Helsinki Area and some places in Estonia. But because of my interest in researching, I am very willing to help you with your travel plans wherever you desire. So if you have any questions I try my best to assist you and come up with an answer. I enjoy helping out, and I enjoy traveling, and I enjoy researching — it's a win-win. But there is a catch — no, I don't charge anything — but I am mentally ill and sometimes also very lazy, which makes me very unreliable at times. So just don't put all your eggs in one basket. But I may as well be answering soon if I am able. So — don't hesitate to contact me, if you have anything to ask or say — 'cause I do like to chat.
